Now, through a collaborative effort between the University of Illinois School of Music and the University's Allerton Park & Retreat Center, music and nature will become one with the creation of a world-class music venue—set amidst the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre historic farmstead.

Arcola celebrates its heritage as the "Broom Corn Capital of the World" with the renowned annual Broom Corn Festival. Visitors can see broom activities, arts/crafts, free entertainment, great food, and a gigantic parade with the Famous Lawn Rangers. Additional, visitors can participate in the ABC 5K and 10K races. The event, held the weekend after Labor Day, honors Arcola's position in the late nineteenth century as a center of broom corn production.
Arcola is famous for the Lawn Rangers, a "precision lawn mower drill team" that marches in formation with brooms and lawn mowers.

Main Street’s 11th Annual Monticello Celebration.
We'll be celebrating education in Piatt County and in Monticello this year. Our top rated school system is the envy of most of the state of Illinois.A great variety of Art and Craft vendors will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on the downtown square. The very popular Pet Parade and Contest starts at 10 am.am, This year’s Kid’s Activity Area is bigger and better and will include a Bounce House, Giant Slide, Obstacle Course and Giant Choo-choo. There will also be lots of other games and make-it take-it activities. We are happy to announce the addition of a stilt walker and baloon man that will be for the enjoyment of all ages.The ever popular “Taste of Monticello” will again showcase our fine restaurants grilling out in front of their businesses. For the fouth year, there will be a Scenes of Monticello Photo Contest. All you shutterbugs should start taking those ONLY seen in Monticello pictures. Come and shop on Celebration Day.

The annual Apple ‘n Pork Festival celebrates harvest time in Clinton, held the last weekend of September on the grounds of the C.H. Moore Homestead. Sample mouth-watering apple and pork treats – from pork chili, BBQ ribs and pig ears to apple fritters, taffy apples, cider and, of course, apple pie! There’s also live entertainment, hundreds of crafters, and a flea market with over 300 vendors and 100,000 in attendance.
